DJI Phantom 4 Review
The DJI Phantom 4 is a beast in the sky with superior features as compared to other market drones. Let us look at the many astounding and jaw dropping features of this drone.
This winged beast only weighs 1380 grams. That is the weight of the drone including the battery. It is due to the sheer lightness of the drone that it can maneuver itself in flight with ease and grace.
There is a sports mode in the drone that allows you to take full advantage of the hardware capabilities without having to push the limits by modifying it yourself. This mode allows you to achieve a maximum ascent speed of 6m/s and a maximum descent speed of 4 m/s and the general maximum speed of the drone is 20 m/s.

While most drones in the market are capable of flying for only 15 minutes, the DJI Phantom 4 is capable of moving in the air while shooting HD video for at least 28 minutes. Normally, the battery overheating in regular drones would cause the drone to crash and burn, but the DJI Phantom 4 is capable of maintaining functionality in a temperature range of 0 degree centigrade to 40 degree centigrade.
As is customary for DJI to fit awesome cameras in their drones, this drone also has a twelve megapixels camera attached in it with an ISO range of 100-3200 for video and an ISO range of 100-1600 for photos.
The maximum image size that the camera supports is 4000 x 3000, which is, frankly, very high quality.
The video recording modes are varying and offer you the option to shoot in 4K UHD quality. Some of the modes and the FPS that the Phantom 4 by DJI offer are:
UHD: 4096×2160 (4K) 24 / 25p
3840×2160 (4K) 24 / 25 / 30p
2704×1520 (2.7K) 24 / 25 / 30p
FHD: 1920×1080 24 / 25 / 30 / 48 / 50 / 60 / 120p
HD: 1280×720 24 / 25 / 30 / 48 / 50 / 60p.
The maximum video bitrate that the camera offers is 60 Mbps that means that you get a very smooth, crisp and fluent video. The maximum capacity that the camera can bear is 64 GBs, which in our opinion, is a lot considering that the drone, will stay airborne for 28 minutes.
Obstacle Sensing System:
Imagine that you are flying the drone in an urban landscape with many buildings, towers, wires and poles in the surrounding. While other drones may crash due to collision with the environment, the DJI Phantom 4 has a built-in Obstacle Sensing System that records, anticipates and serves to avoid obstacles during the course of the drone’s flight. That along with the Gimbal’s controllable range of =90 degrees to +30 degrees allows the user to fly the drone with superb ease and comfort that no other drone in the market can match.
The maximum remote control distance that the Phantom 4 allows is a whopping 5 km in any direction. This means that you can climb Mount Everest and have the Phantom 4 record the video of you doing so.
